Enjoy your time spent here and welcome to Davis Elementary School! ![]() Dear Parents and Families, We hope everyone had a blessed and relaxing winter break! We are extremely thankful for all the tax credit donations that were submitted to provide extra support for our students in 2011. With these important funds, we are able to send 6th grade students on a wonderful culminating experience called “Dragons in the Canyon", provide food to students through our snack pack program facilitated by the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona, and offer many more programs and experiences that benefit our students throughout the year. Please communicate with your Homer Davis students about setting goals to have a positive and successful experience in the spring semester at school. It is important to continue to quiz math facts and read with your child on a consistent basis, so we can make the best impact on student achievement. We continue to encourage all of our families to volunteer at least one hour per academic quarter on campus in some capacity to support our students. Field trips, science fair assistance, and facilitating a small group of students through a teacher modeled mini-lesson are a few of the ways to get involved. Over the first semester, we logged over 2,000 volunteer hours. We are extremely grateful for everyone who participated consistently in our classrooms. However, we look to get more parents involved throughout the spring semester. Contact your child’s teacher today! Provided for your review are the upcoming events for January where your participation is always encouraged:
Wishing you a Happy New Year in 2012!
Sincerely,
Chad Miller
